#65 – Peanut Butter and Marmalade on Toasted Pretzel Roll

Ingredients

-Peanut butter
-Orange marmalade

-Pretzel roll

Christian: We made this one the same day we made Sandwich #28 and utilized the same pretzel bread gutting strategy that also worked on that one. And while it makes the sandwich look a little deflated, it definitely reduces the gumminess and the chewiness of the pretzel bread.

We used crunchy peanut butter, which, along with the orange peel in the marmalade, and the crunchiness of the toasted bread, added to all of the different textures experienced with this one.

I really liked it and had to limit myself to just the one sandwich, so as to not induce an allergic reaction.

★★★½

Susannah: It’s a fancy PB&J, let’s not beat around the bush. There is nothing wrong with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and there is nothing wrong with this one. It’s nothing remarkable or groundbreaking, or probably all that memorable either, but it’s still a satisfying bite. With the pretzel bread it can cloggy on some bites, but for the most part it feels like a grown up take on a childhood classic
