#15 – Chicken, Caesar Dressing, Parmesan Crisps, and Romaine on a French Roll

Ingredients

-Deli-sliced chicken breast
-Romaine lettuce
-Caesar dressing

-Shaved Parmesan, Romano, Asiago cheese blend
-French roll

Christian: I don’t think I had ever previously thought about turning a salad into a sandwich, but a Chicken Caesar Salad makes a pretty good one. The Parmesan crisp really made this one work for me, along with a more-than-you’d-initially-think amount of Caesar dressing.

Maybe if we toasted the bread next time, it would more resemble a crouton, but this one still worked as is.

Now I need to think about the next salad I want transformed into a sandwich…

Susannah: This sandwich was basically what it sounds like, a Caesar salad as a sandwich, which wasn’t a bad thing. I was a little worried with Caesar dressing being the only condiment, it would be too strong, too pepper-y, but it wasn’t. In fact, when making the sandwich again, I added more dressing because it almost couldn’t hold up to the romaine. We made our own Parmesan cheese crisps and they were the perfect addition, giving it a crunchy texture that paired nicely with the other ingredients. It was light and refreshing; a good sandwich.
