-Alfalfa sprouts

-Green bell peppers
-Orange bell peppers
-Roma tomatoes
-Rustic ciabatta bread

Christian: Going in, my expectations for this one were low. If given a choice between vegetarian or anything with meat, I will almost never choose vegetarian. I want to die earlier, I guess.

So to my surprise, I liked this one. While cutting the ciabatta, I knew if anything, it would be good, and it was great. I think we made the right decision using raw bell peppers because it needed a different texture from all the other softer elements. I preferred the bites where there was more dill cream cheese than hummus, but all the bites were good.

I’m not going to give up meat anytime soon, but this one showed that eating healthier might not be as awful as I thought.

★★★½

Susannah: I think the idea of this sandwich mostly left me ambivalent. I didn’t have high expectations going in, but I like most of the ingredients. I love hummus, I like sprouts, I like cream cheese; I just don’t think I would have ever put them together. The ciabatta was the perfect vehicle for this sandwich: soft, with just enough crispness. The bell peppers and sprouts help add texture and necessary crunch. I think I liked it, but I’m not really sure. I might still be a little ambivalent.

Pros: It makes for a pretty good vegetarian sandwich.
Cons: Where’s the beef? At the end of the day, as soon as I finished it, I found myself missing the meat.

All in all, I will say Patricia knows what she’s doing, but I won’t be running out to order it again anytime soon.
